The Lady of Life and Death/Vida de la Muerte, 2018
17496 Sonoma Highway, Boyes Hot Springs
This vibrant, large-scale mural, located in Boyes Hot Springs, was a collaboration between the artist Chor Boogie and nearly 20 local teens. The project was organized by the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art and funded in part by a National Endowment for the Arts grant that supports both public art and artist residency collaborations. The “lady of life and death” in the mural is a woman costumed with a Dia de los Muertos skull and flowers; other elements include bright images of vineyards, and nighttime constellations named for animals.
