This impressive, nearly 600-foot-long fence mural was a community improvement project, designed by muralist Jet Martinez and led by local art advocate Judy Kennedy. An homage to Santa Rosa both past and present, the mural features the silhouettes of 26 distinct plant species and varieties developed by the Santa Rosa horticulturalist Luther Burbank. Each panel has an individual plant silhouette, designed by Martinez and painted by neighborhood volunteers. Additionally, the mural features three silhouettes of residents of the Burbank Gardens neighborhood. Each person's silhouette frames a depiction of the house the person lives in.
