The University Art Collection contains many works by contemporary Bay Area artists, including artists who are nationally known such as Hung Liu and Jim Melchert. The collection also contains works by key mid-twentieth century artists who were important to the development of modern art in northern California, for instance Wally Hedrick and Roy de Forest. In addition, the collection includes artworks by several present and former Sonoma State University art studio faculty.
